Stellenbosch Celebrates 100 Identities in Africa
This event was organised by the Stellenbosch University’s Transformation Office in cooperation with the SU Museum, Woordfees and Department of Social Impact. The purpose was to celebrate 100 identities in Africa, inviting 200 guests to enjoy the celebration with a selection of local food and music by members of the surrounding communities, reflecting our diversity.
A panel discussion was held with each panellist representing a different experience of Stellenbosch, inviting us to come together as different parts of Stellenbosch to take up our challenges together.
The panel was moderated by Renee Hector-Kannemeyer from Matie Community Service. The panellists were Yeki Mosomothane from the Centre for Student Structures and Communities at SU, Dennis Moss, a town planner based in Stellenbosch, Ms Stephané Conradie, a doctoral student in the SU’s Department of Visual Arts and Shirle Cornellisen from SU’s Faculty of Theology.
